Kelly Wahlstrom is a San Francisco-based product design lead and creative director specializing in retail innovation, immersive commerce, visual systems, and consumer experience design. Her work spans product design, UX strategy, branding, creative direction, and global campaign development, with a focus on building scalable experiences that connect storytelling with measurable impact.
Currently at Meta Reality Labs, Kelly leads strategic design initiatives across retail demos, native virtual try-on experiences, promotional systems, associate tooling, and internationalized commerce experiences for the suite of Meta Smart AI glasses. Partnering cross-functionally across Engineering, UXR, PMM, PM, Marketing, and Creative, she translates consumer insights into thoughtful product experiences that drive engagement, operational efficiency, and increased purchase intent across global markets.
Prior to Meta, Kelly led brand and creative initiatives across agency and startup environments, including directing visual creative for a Series C company with a multi-million dollar marketing budget. Her multidisciplinary background in visual design, motion, storytelling, and art direction informs a systems-minded approach that balances strategic thinking with craft and emotional resonance.
Her work has been recognized by Communication Arts, Type Directors Club, The Dieline, Parent’s Choice, The Finnys, and the Academy of Art University.
Outside of work, she draws inspiration from movement, music, California modernism, and life in the Bay Area with her husband, two boys, and their cat, Simon.
